TT News and Updated Documents
You will find an updated TT Code of Practice and Protocols, which outlines the employer’s responsibility for supporting its trainers. See password protected tutor area (Guidance Section - See you trainer manual Page 2 for password and username) In addition, the advanced trainer refresher time scales have been slightly revised, with advanced trainers being required to refresh within every 15 months and a 4 month grace period, during which they can assist but not lead advance modules.

All trainers will be required to keep a log of their monthly visits to the TT web site to view the news section as well as the video files that are most relevant to their course delivery. A log record document is provided within the Post Course document tutor area.

Regarding trainer refresher requirements, see the re-accreditation PDF document within the tutor guidance documents area and the slide included within the updated V2011 Workbook PowerPoint presentation, located within the Visual aids PowerPoint Presentations V2011_0409

A handout of the Workbook V2011 PowerPoint slides has been made available via the password protected Let’s Share area (found on the TT Homepage) and the password protected tutor area, located in the course materials and documents section.

For trainers who lead training outside of their own service setting, the updated initial visit form (located in the pre course documents area) should be used and retained by the trainer. You will also find an updated summary evaluation form (located in the post course documents area) that should be returned to TT as per normal by email as a word doc attachment

Updated advanced and intermediate topic codes (located in the course materials and documents section) used for recording of skills, knowledge and understanding gained are available via the tutor password protected area.

For those of you delivering courses in Wales, supporting documents and PP presentation regarding relevant law and guidance are available via your tutor share area.

For advanced trainers, teaching ground recovery techniques an updated version of the ground recovery template and advanced summary evaluation is available via advanced tutor post documentation area

For employers with 5 or more “in house” trainers, there is a strong TT recommendation for co-ordinators of training to use the “Like & Learn Quality Control and Assurance doc” in order to support TT and trainers delivery. See tutor share area for the document.

Any changes with regard to time scales and tutor / employer responsibilities will not be retrospectively applied but will take effect from your next attendance on a tutor refresher course. However, use of: initial visit forms, web site log record, ground recovery advance template and the updated summary evaluation form will come into force as a requirement from April 1st 2009.

Thanks to Gela Griffiths and her staff at Mayfield School in Lancashire for sharing their best practice “Care and Control” policy. See password protected tutor share area for the document.

Cumulatively, the updated documents and requirements add up to a more robust and evidenced response from TT with regard to its commitment to its trainers and their delivery. I thank you all for your continued help with and support of TT.
